Adult Substance Abuse Program

The Adult Substance Abuse Program at Three Rivers Behavioral Health consists of medical detoxification followed by appropriate inpatient rehabilitation as needed. Understanding that drug and alcohol dependencies are life-threatening diseases, we regard them as medical illnesses. Emphasis is placed on self-realization, learning relapse prevention skills, and understanding that recovery is a lifelong process.

Treatments follow the 12 Step Model of Addiction along with offering DBT/CBT strategies. Comprehensive treatment-oriented activities are provided by a multi-disciplinary staff. Clinical staff provide group therapy, family therapy, activities therapy, and recreational therapy. All clinical services are delivered by qualified professional staff including, but not limited to, psychiatrists, registered nurses, mental health workers, clinical social workers, a dietitian, pharmacist, and recreational or activity therapists.

The goal of treatment is to promote the highest level of functioning for each patient with emphasis on individual and group provided at the least restrictive level of care. The patient’s symptoms, strengths, family support and discharge needs provide the basis for care from
admission to discharge.

AA meetings are held onsite three days per week, and a step-down to our Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is also available.

Adult Dual Diagnosis Program

When substance abuse and psychiatric illnesses occur together, treatment may become more complicated. In the Adult Dual Diagnosis Program at Three Rivers Behavioral Health, patients can receive medical detoxification and rehabilitation while receiving treatment for their psychiatric illness. The program is designed for the treatment of patients, ages 18 or over with a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency who meet the criteria for medically supervised inpatient treatment.

This course of treatment offers an intensive therapeutic program, which provides medical and psychiatric stabilization with 24-hour nursing care for patients experiencing critical symptoms.
